iON Creative Studios
A sample website built to show prospective clients what the studio could produce, designed against a set of constraints and a defined audience.
Background
A concept website for iON, built to a set of constraints and a defined audience. The finished design became the sample site the studio showed prospective clients. The owner moved between calling the company iON Studio and the iON Network while the work was underway, and the site carries the network name.
The Challenge
The brief described an audience and a set of constraints rather than a specification. It was the first full website I had designed in Figma, and I had not yet learned information architecture, so the structure came from instinct.
Approach
I handled the visuals: layout, type, colour, and the 3D running through the site. The studio sold 3D work, and the site needed to demonstrate that on sight rather than describe it.
Outcome
The design became the sample site the studio put in front of prospective clients.
Looking at it now, the footer is the weak point. It carries links that don’t belong there, which is the kind of thing I catch early today by settling the structure before the visuals.
